The FBOL Apple app is available to participants, and allows them to listen to the course audio tracks. In addition to this, the app lets them track their win-win agreements, personal goals, comments from facilitator or Manager/Mentor.
In order to get the app, you need to go to the App Store page for the app for your device. Specifically, on your phone or tablet device, click of the image below for your device. This will take you to the store page, where you be able to install the app. Alternatively, search for ‘Feedback Online’ (without the quotes) in the App Store (Apple).
When you first start the app, you will be prompted to enter your user ID and password. These are the same user ID and password that you use to log into FBOL. Please note the following:
If you don’t want to be prompted for user ID and password each time you start, make sure that the “Remember Me” option is checked, and the app will automatically log you in next time you start it.
Most participants will be undertaking only a single course, and the application will select this course by default. If you are enrolled in multiple courses, you will be prompted to select a course.
You can change the selected course at any time by clicking the “Course” button (top-right).
You access your course audio by selecting “Audio” from the menu (along the bottom bar).
You will then be presented with a list of the modules available for your course. Select a module to be taken to the audio player, then select a track or press the play button to start listening. If you have the “Auto-Start Playback” and/or “Remember Last Track Played” settings enabled (see later), audio will automatically start and/or resume from the last track played.
You can return to the audio player at any time by selecting “Audio” from the menu, then click the music icon in the top right.
Course audio can also be downloaded to your device so that your data allowance for your device is not used. The “Download Audio” in settings enables this feature.
Please note the following about downloaded audio:
The app allows you to add, view and modify win-win agreements and personal goals. Select the appropriate option (“Win-Win Agreement” or “Personal Goals”) from the menu to view your current goals. The goals displayed are specific to your selected course.
Click the “Add Goal” button at the top of the screen to add a new goal while viewing the list of goals.
Click on a goal in the list to view and modify that goal. The layout of the screen for a goal is similar to the flow in the FBOL website. Once you have made any changes to a goal, you need to click the “Save” button at the top (you may have to scroll back to the top of the screen to see this button).
Action steps for a goal are shown as a list part way down the goal screen. You can add new action steps to a goal by clicking the “Add Action Step” button. Click on an action step in the list to view or modify that action step. Again, once you have made any changes to an action step, you need to click the “Save” button at the top.
The comments stream shown on the main screen of the FBOL website is available through the app. Select “Comments” from the menu to access your current comments. The comments displayed are specific to your selected course.
You can scroll through the list and read all previous comments.
To add a comment, enter text into the “Enter your comment” field at the top of the screen, and then click “Add Comment”.
The settings screen allows you to configure the way you want the app to behave. To access settings, select “Settings” from the menu.
If this is enabled, it means you selected the “Remember Me” option on the login screen. To clear your login details, disable this settings. You will not be able to re-enable this option via the settings screen, but only when you next login by enabling “Remember Me” again.
As described above, if this is enabled, audio tracks for each module visited will be downloaded to your device. Upon disabling this setting, all audio tracks will be deleted from your device.
If this is enabled, audio playback will begin automatically upon selecting a module from the list of modules in the “Audio” screen.
If this is enabled, the last track you played before shutting down the app will be either:
Various automatic notifications, such as Goal Target Date Nearing or New Comment(s) Received can be enabled by enabling the various settings.
For notifications such as Goal Target Date Nearing or Action Step Target Date Nearing, the app uses 7 days before the target date as the window for notification.
Please note that the app needs to be running (foreground or background) for notifications to be triggered – we are currently investigating modifying this so that you will receive notifications whether the app is running or not.
